NPC Spellcaster Poll
about 2 years ago – Thu, Feb 17, 2022 at 10:32:15 PM

Hello Good Little Children Backers

The 5e conversion of Beacon in the Dark is basically done, except for one point I'm debating. What to do about NPC spellcasters?

For those of you who have not being following the latest from WOTC, in recent books they've tweaked their monster format. A lot of these are things I like, such as splitting bonus actions out into their own line and including proficiency bonuses.

I'm torn on they way that they deal with NPC spellcasters. They now have fewer spells available and just cast spells a number of times per day instead of having spell slots. This makes them easier to run, but less flexible.

So I'm putting the question to backers, how would you like to see spellcasting NPCs done in Beacon in the Dark?

There's a simple survey here.

Example below of a drow mage done using both formats.

Thanks,

Matthew

February Update
about 2 years ago – Thu, Feb 10, 2022 at 01:03:51 AM

I hope things are going well for you.

Progress is going well on Beacon in the Dark. I've finished my first pass at the 5e revision. In the next week or so I'm going to give that another pass to see if I missed anything, and then it will be off for external editing and we'll tackle the other systems.

All of the writing and editing should be done by the end of the month, but I was emailing our artist earlier today and it looks like the art might not be ready until early march.

I'll keep you posted on how things develop and check in again the first week of March if not sooner.

Take care,

Matthew

January Update
over 2 years ago – Sat, Jan 01, 2022 at 05:59:35 PM

Happy 2022! Just a quick update this month.

I hope you have all enjoyed your copy of Good Little Children Never Grow Up. If anybody hasn't gotten it yet, let me know.

Progress on Beacon in the Dark continues. December was busier for me than planned, so Beacon in the Dark probably won't be out until February.

I'll check in again in February if not sooner.

Thanks,

Matthew

Good Little Children Is Live!
over 2 years ago – Tue, Oct 19, 2021 at 12:58:58 AM

Hello Good Little Children Backers,

Good Little Children Never Grow Up PDFs are now live for 5e, Pathfinder 2e, and Savage Worlds!

Most of you should have gotten an email from DriveThruRPG with coupon codes for Good Little Children, plus any other Backer Kit add-ons for existing PDFs.

If you have not gotten a copy:

1) Make sure you filled out your Backer Kit Survey. There are still some of you who have not. You can retrieve your survey here: https://good-little-children-never-grow-up.backerkit.com/

If that doesn't work let me know.

I'm sending these out manually, so once you fill out the survey it make take several hours for me to send out the email.

2) Check your junk mail folder. I've noticed that Gmail has been especially aggressive about calling things spam recently.

3) If you've completed the above, please let me know.

Stretch Goal Timeline

Now that Good Little Children is out, it's time to start working on the stretch goals. I don't have  firm timeline for these yet, but I'm aiming to have Beacon in the Dark out in January and the Golden Banner out in March.

Then, if all goes well, the print collection should be out in April or May.

I'll keep you posted between now and then.

Thanks,

Matthew

Thank you to everybody who has responded!
