Additional Adventure Unlocked!
over 2 years ago – Tue, Sep 14, 2021 at 04:20:38 PM

Hello Good Little Children Backers,

I'm excited to say that we've reached our stretch goal to update a second adventure! Now, everybody at the $7 level or higher will receive a PDF of this adventure as well.

And The Winner Is...

Thanks to everybody who voted in in the survey. It was an extremely close races between Blessed by Poison, The Golden Banner, and Beacon in the Dark, but in the end Beacon edged out Blessed by just one vote!

I'm excited to bring bring Beacon to 5e as the heroes navigate the underdark, battle drow, and protect NPCs who each harbor a deadly secret.

If you are a fan of the other adventures, fear not, because there's still over a week left in the campaign and odds are good that we'll reach the stretch goal for at least on more adventure. The next adventure unlock will be when we reach $2,500.

Be on the Cover

Now that we've added Beacon in the Dark, we're adding a new reward level, you can be on the cover!

We've done a lot of “Part of the Art” reward levels in the past, but with these short adventures, there's not a lot of wiggle room for extra art of new NPCs, except for on the cover.

One backer who pledges for the Beacon in the Dark Cover level can have a hero based on their favorite character or a picture of themselves featured on the cover image, as they spiders and/or drow in the underdark.

There's only one of these for Beacon, but I'll add another for each further adventure we unlock.

Updates and Zombies
over 2 years ago – Sat, Sep 04, 2021 at 11:36:13 PM

Hello Good Little Children Backers,

Our Kickstarter campaign is continuing strong. Though, as with all Kickstarters, we've slowed down from the break-neck pace of the first few days, we make steady progress each day, and I'm confident we'll hit those stretch goals before long. There's some updates on stretch goals below, but first...

Zombies!

There's a lot of ways that heroes can earn treasure: rewards from the queen or discovering it in a dragon horde. Or they can tear a magical sword impaled in their foe, then uses that same sword to decapitate their enemy.

That last example is exactly the scenario I've tried to set up in a key encounter in Good Little Children Never Grow Up. The weapon binding zombie is a monster I created to help make this happen.

Weapon Binding Zombie

Medium humanoid, neutral evil

Armor Class 8

Hit Points 85 (10d8+40)

Speed 20 ft.

STR 18 (+4) DEX 6 (-2) CON 19 (+4) INT 3 (-4) WIS 6 (-2) CHA 5 (-3)

Saving Throws Wisdom +0

Damage Immunities poison

Condition Immunities poisoned

Senses darkvision 60 feet, passive Perception 8

Challenge 2 (450 XP)

Blade in the Head. The zombie has the Karthax the Vigilant, sticking out of his head. As an interaction, a creature within 5 feet can attempt to pull the weapon out by making a DC 14 Strength check.

Undead Fortitude. If damage reduces the zombie to 0 hit points, it must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 5+the damage taken, unless the damage is radiant or from a critical hit. On a success, the zombie drops to 1 hit point instead.

Weapon Bind. When a melee or throw weapon scores a critical hit against the zombie or reduces it to 0 hp, that weapon becomes lodged in the zombies body. A character can use an interaction to pull the weapon free with a DC 14 Strength check.

Actions

Multi-Attack.The zombie makes two slam attacks.

Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 2d6 + 4 bludgeoning damage.

Disarming Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 3d6 + 4 bludgeoning damage and the target must make a DC 14 Strength saving throw. If they fail, one weapon the target was holding is knocked up to 30 feet away.

Stretch Goal Updates

I have made a couple updates based on backer requests.

First up is VTT tokens. Several have asked about virtual table tops version of the adventures. I have not yet created any products to sell on VTTs, and I don't want you guys to be my guinea pig for that, so I'm not going to offer full VTT editions.

I did, however, made plenty of VTT tokes to use when my home game switched to Roll20 during Covid lock down.

Therefor I'm adding a new stretch goal at the $1,300 level where I'll include VTT friendly tokens of monsters and important NPCs as .PNG files with each adventure. Because this will use existing art and I'll make the tokens myself, I'm not changing any of the other reward levels because of tokens.

People have also asked about print books. I originally planned to add an option for a print collection when we reached a total of four adventures. After looking at it again, it seems viable with three adventures total, Good Little Children, plus two stretch adventures.

Because print books come with increased costs of printing and shipping, I am changing the goal for the third bonus book from $3,500 to $5,000. The final stretch goal already accounted for printing and shipping, so that's staying same.

Take care and keep spreading the word about Good Little Children.

Goal!
over 2 years ago – Sat, Sep 04, 2021 at 05:18:35 PM

Hello Good Little Children Backers,

We've reached our goal! This means that Good Little Children Never Grow Up will get brand new art, maps, and layout and a full conversion to 5e, Pathfinder 2e, and Savage Worlds.

But we're just getting started! We still have nineteen days to go, and plenty of more adventures that we can unlock. We'll unlock the next of these when we hit $1,600. Around the same time I'll put out a poll to determine which of the adventure we'll be updating.

I'll check in again soon.

Thanks for A Great Start!

Hello Good Little Children Backers!

Because of you, we're off to great start to our Kickstarter campaign. In just two days we're nearly 80% of the way to our goal! I think think we should hit it in the next day or two, and then it's on to funding additional adventures. Based on how things have gone so far, I think we're well on track to fund at least two more.

In the coming days I'll keep you updated on the progress and include a few previews of what you'll find in this adventure and the future ones.

You have already done a lot to back the campaign, but if you want to go the extra step and push it over the top faster, you can also help by spreading the word on social media, on message boards, or to your friends around the game table.

I'll post again soon.
